This is by far THE best hotel in Meadow Lake. Do yourself a favour and pay the extra hundred dollars to stay here as your experience will be on a different level. As a person who used to work and live in Meadow Lake I continue to visit once a year to stay in touch with my dear friends. Finding a decent hotel in Meadow Lake is a challenge. I have stayed in pretty much all of them and they were all disastrous. I had given up and The Woodland Inn was my last hope. I told myself that if it didn’t work out at this hotel then I would not return to Meadow Lake. But sure enough this wonderful hotel came through and I had a very satisfactory 15 nights stay.
It is not a fancy modern hotel and I was a little underwhelmed at first but as my stay progressed I started noticing more and more little details that truly impressed me! The first thing that stood out was the staff and their willingness to make my stay pleasant. I was treated like VIP even though I am just an ordinary person. In a world full of rude and mean people it sure felt good to walk in a place that respected me and treated me like a decent human being.
Lou is the person who checked me in and everything went smooth. She was very sweet, kind and courteous. I asked for a room on the top floor away from noise and people and she was able to accommodate my request. I was put in room 201. My room was impeccably, clean and spotless. I had plenty of clean towels, and the bed sheets and pillows smelled clean. I had a fridge, AC unit as well as a blow dryer that worked well. I also had a small microwave oven but unfortunately that was my only complaint. The microwave took almost 7 minutes to heat a cup of water. I asked for it to be changed, but it never got done.
The hotel has a charm that is very homely. Beautiful decorations that are unique . Owners, Anthony and Michelle are a lovely couple who take pride in their beautiful hotel and you can see them working and cleaning the premises on a daily basis.
Hotel is perfectly located close to a grocery store, coffee, shop, and restaurants. The hotel has a gym with excellent gym equipment such as a treadmill, Elliptical, bike and weight training unit not to mention AC. I enjoyed working on my fitness while staying at this hotel. And although I’m not a coffee drinker, I soon became one as their coffee was really good.
The breakfast was very limited, and was lacking of good healthy protein sources such as boiled eggs or package, cream cheese but I still was able to find healthy options, such as fruit, brown bread, and peanut butter. The cleaning staff were adorable and kind and did a great job touching up my room when I asked. The superstar of this hotel was Carissa, the lovely young woman who worked the front desk during the day. She always took the time to listen to me and talk with me. It gets lonely travelling by yourself, and I appreciated her time. She truly was in a class of her own as she was so polite and professional ! The best feature of this hotel? Super quiet! Was quiet during the day, was quiet in the evenings, and it was quiet at night. It was exactly what I needed! All and all, I highly recommend this hotel. It is a true gem and Meadow Lake is lucky to have it!

Stayed one night on my way through. It is a very nice modern hotel. It is as updated and upscale as the big chains. Everything was very clean. The rooms and common space are well lit and contemporary. The location is convenient. Just about everything you could want is in walking distance. The staff was professional and cordial. I made a point of complimenting them on the quality of their facility at checkout. I would definitely stay there again and I'm happy that my room fees went to a local owner.

Beautiful little hotel rooms. We checked in around midnight and staff were friendly and quick to check us in. The room was a perfect size but the tv had been unplugged and it took us around 30 minutes to fix it as it was so close to the wall. Room was a great temperature. However the breakfast was pretty disappointing.

This place is a gem in Meadow Lake!

I chose this place to stay at for my first time in Meadow Lake, on a work trip, after reading the reviews of the half dozen or so hotels in the town. The 4 and 5 star reviews for this hotel are well deserved!

The location is clean and quiet, away from the busy parts of town, aside from the one main road, but there wasn't much road noise that I could hear (I did have a room on the opposite side of the building, though).

The room I had was ample size and a good layout, the bed was comfortable (not rock hard, not super soft, a bit bouncy). I brought my own pillow so I can't comment on the pillows.

The TV, amenities, and appliances all worked just fine, and none were too loud when running.

The biggest plus is the staff. Since they own it, they take good care of it, and they make you feel at home. They answered all of my questions about local places to eat, and they quickly responded to my notice that the one outside door was not closing properly, which could become a safety issue.

Breakfast was good. It was continental, so muffins, fruit, yogurt, toast options, cereal options. Not sure about gluten free options, as I didn't need those.

I felt safe and comfortable while I was here.

Overall experience was good. Room was clean. Small continental breakfast. Only thing I didn’t like is I couldn’t adjust the temperature in the room easily and I’m always cold but just wore a sweater. Floor in the room was not carpet so I recommend bringing slippers.

Unexpectedly good! Clean and spacious rooms, lots of well lit parking, nice enough breakfast options. I will stay there again!

The hotel is fine. I did not enjoy having no thermostat to control the temperature in room 204. This resulted in a poor sleep experience ( room temperature warmer then you are accustomed to)

We had a three-night stay in August 2022. The rooms are spacious and quiet. There are black out curtains, AC cools the room well, and the price is reasonable. We stayed in the honeymoon suite and the only thing I would add would be hooks to hang up towels in the bathroom and some type of additional counter space in the room. A long table or some type of dresser to put additional items on would be grand.
