My husband and I recently stayed one night in the Mt. Ouray suite. The bed was comfortable and firm, which is a must for us. The room was very clean and not cluttered, as I understand it has been in the past based on prior reviews. The house is funky, but in a good way, with displays of collectables throughout the house. We are both artists and found it appealing. There is an upstairs balcony with great views, on which we hung out for a while before heading downtown to check out the galleries and stores, which are a hop, skip and a jump away. There is community kitchen/eating area with a stove, sink, counters, dinnerware, etc., which we did not use, but would consider it for future visits. Steve was very welcoming, and was helpful in giving us good restaurant recommendations. The garden outside was well maintained. There are air conditioning units in the room and sitting area, which kept the room cool on a very hot day in the 90s. There was no evidence of dogs, which seemed to be a problem for past reviewers. I did not have the breakfast, but my husband did, who found it a bit disappointing. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and would certainly stop in again.

I choose this B & B due to the fact it is in walking distance of downtown Salida and the river. My cousin and daughter had rooms in the house and my roommate and I stayed in the cottage. It was perfect for the four of us as we had a place to gather and eat, we could walk to most places and the breakfast was awesome. The hosts, Tammy and Steve know the area and were very helpful and friendly. The upstairs rooms have access to a balcony with a beautiful view. The cottage is in back and so didn't have a view but we could park directly in front which was nice as we were traveling with coolers and picnic stuff for four people! I would highly recommnd this B&B, especially for the price and the location.

This is a true mom n pop bed and breakfast! It’s an older home for sure but the owners are super nice and they make amazing breakfast. There’s a lot of stuff to look at inside the house but not much to do inside the house. The rooms are small but perfect for 2-3 people.
My mom took us here years ago for a little vacation and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who’s willing to rent a room inside someone’s home while they’re there. It’s cool.

Friendly environment, it was enjoyable socializing with others over breakfast. Tammy and Steve are amazing owners and provided a lovely experience. We got to hang out and have some good conversation with some other people at this Bed and Breakfast. It was fun and we thank you for the overnight stay.

While the hosts were friendly and likeable, unfortunately the B&B is in very serious need of cleaning and maintenance. Our suite worked for us for the time we were there, but a return trip will not be happening. Breakfast was mediocre at best, the hot tub was completely non-usable, and there is excessive junk everywhere. Would not even want to sit down in the living room or out on the porch. Not what I would hope for in a B&B.

Really enjoyed staying here. Tammy and Steve were great hosts and gave us a lot of recommendations to check out, from tourism to restaurants in town. Salida is also a very cute artsy town where you can find something unique for your loved ones. We would absolutely stay here again, and we can't wait to return!

First, I must say that Tammy and Steve are great hosts and will do anything to make you comfortable. Unfortunately, the cottage is in back and the grounds around it is in need of a lot of cleanup work. We never saw or were offered the hot tub advertised. The cottage was very dark and musty smelling. This was very disappointing since it was our first B & B experience. Definitely was not worth the $150

The Thomas House is a great place at a very fair price. The location is awesome in Salida, only 2 blocks from where everything is “happening”! The breakfast is good, and Steve is a wonderful host! I will definitely come back!
