Recently rented two rooms as I was attending a conference with my family. Here are my results out of 5 stars... 1 star = poor and 5 stars = excellent

Overall, the room was inexpensive, but I guess you get what you pay for. My room's (door) barely locked, the lamp was broken, holes in the carpet and didn't smell the best. Thankfully it was only for 1 night.

At least 2 people staying there were smoking weed, some outside, some in their cars and it reeked. I say do what you like, but come on, to this much and to this degree?

When you first pull in, you see these sort of "quaint" structures, but quickly realize has a sort of a "Motel 6" type of feel.

As others have posted, the property is not up to Marriott Standards. It appears that weekly or monthly renters are there, and that's fine, but the rooms are run down and need upgrades. We saw two cute cats in one of the windows in a room nearby, but we also heard them crying and crying.... Although we didn't have any problems, it felt unsafe. Perception is reality to many.

The breakfast was good, but it was difficult to find a table. I hope Marriott puts some much needed resources into this property, as the employees seem very good and eager to help.

The rooms have such a strong smell of dampness that it becomes unbreathable. The carpets are extremely old. The bathrooms are outdated. The appliances break down. Maintenance does what they can. And the reception staff is friendly. After washing all the clothes I brought, they still smelled of dampness. I thought the Marriott chain was better. A total disappointment. I do not recommend this place at all.

We came here from Tampa after we lost power from Hurricane Milton. We brought our dog, Louie with us. We were concerned he would bark too much because he barks when he hears slamming doors. This property is the perfect apartment for a family and a dog. Very quiet and almost like you are in your own townhouse. We love everything about it. It helped us rest and relax after a traumatic few weeks of hurricanes. Plenty of space for dogs to get exercise. Great pool and basketball court for kids to exercise. In a neighborhood full of good restaurants. We will be back. ❤️

The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. I promise you the bad review is way off mark. We have stayed there many times and have always been treated more like family then guests. Any time we had an issue it was addressed immediately. Zulika, Antisha and Meghan go way out of there way to ensure you have all you need. I promise you will not be disappointed if you stay there. I’ve stayed at many hotels in my life and I can assure you this is where you want to stay.

We checked in on the night of July 19. It was late. We had a long drive from Ga. The check-in person at the front desk was so nice and helpful! She got us checked in quickly and smoothly! The rooms were nice, comfortable, and very spacious! I enjoyed it. The sweet girl at the front desk was great, her customer service was superb, and we will definitely be back!

I am a Gold Elite member who stays at Marriott’s frequently. This is an underrated hotel. Not sure why there are so many bad reviews, perhaps some people have unrealistic expectations? This isn’t the Ritz Carlton, it’s not meant to be, but it’s a clean, quiet and comfortable hotel for sure. From the moment I checked in, with the staff being very welcoming and kind till the moment I left, everything was great. Here is my logical and fact based review: PROS Clean, quiet and comfortable. Older but very spacious and well maintained rooms, that are perfect for families. Great location in Altamonte springs with super easy access to I4 yet far enough to have zero road noise (unlike most hotels nowadays). Clean/well maintained pool. CONS Breakfast could be improved a little. Could benefit from a little more kitchen equipment. Overall an excellent stay and highly recommended whether you are a family and need some space, or a solo or couple vacationing and appreciate the nice relaxed and quiet “suburban” feel of Altamonte Springs in Orlando that is within easy distance to downtown and the east coast beaches. This place is truly a little oasis and I won’t hesitate to return!

Unacceptable Treatment and Poor Customer Service
I am extremely disappointed with the treatment my son received at Residence Inn Orlando Altamonte/Springs/Maitland. Despite having a confirmed and paid for reservation, he was denied check-in because he was using my credit card for "incidentals". This left him stranded more than three hours away from home, with no assistance or alternatives offered by the hotel staff.

As a frequent traveler, I know that hotels can accept a family member’s credit card, as I have done this before. I tried to work with the Manager to provide other methods for covering incidentals, but they refused to help, citing hotel policy. I emphasized that leaving a young man stranded in an unfamiliar place is very poor hotel policy.

This level of customer service is completely unacceptable. The hotel showed a lack of empathy and flexibility, failing to accommodate a young traveler who had a confirmed reservation. I expected better from a reputable establishment and will not be recommending this hotel to anyone in the future.

UPDATE: I have received responses from other travelers who have also had problems with this hotel. AVOID AT ALL COST if you are looking for a reputable hotel.

It's a REAL stretch to call the room we stayed in the "penthouse" come on Residence Inn... the best part about the hotel was the Mexican restaurant next door. The rooms are old and likely converted apartments. The upstairs loft was fun for the kids to have their own space but it was very hot up there.
