We booked a 2-night fall getaway in the Manchester Cottage. The attention to detail, decor & warmth in the cottage, main house & grounds made a perfect setting for decompressing from everyday life. Doug and his family welcomed us to their b&b like old friends. We had a gourmet breakfast during our stay. The fresh squeezed orange juice, french pressed coffee & local selections of food kept us energized all day to venture out on the beautiful trails. We highly recommend HVR and look forward to our next visit.

We stayed at the cottage on the property and loved it. Doug was the best host, who helped us is in any way he could. He customized our breakfast for us each day and we were charmed by the deer we saw on the property. We would definitely stay here again and cannot recommend this place enough!

Doug is an outstanding host, a wonderful cook and communicator. While his wife Jace is an outstanding Baker! Such delicious baked goods!! We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our conversations. They have great taste in music as well! Our stay was comfortable, cozy and very peaceful. We stayed in the Ashley room. The grounds are breathtaking! We loved every bit of this property and our stay. We had so many pre-arranged plans. However, the next time we visit this area, we are sure to enjoy Doug and Jace’s recommendations. This is beyond a five star B&B!!

What a charming place! We stayed in the Manchester Cottage. From the comfortable bed, to the amazing bathroom with a rain shower this quaint/cozy room did not disappoint. Doug was an incredible, attentive host. His homemade breakfasts, as well as Jace's baked goods were savory and delicious. We will definitley be back!!

Doug has an attention to detail that makes your stay both comfortable and enjoyable. The breakfast was both delicious, healthy and filling, such that a very light lunch bordered on being unnecessary.

Doug was very friendly and welcoming and gave us great recommendations for places to visit and eat. We were very impressed by the attention given to every detail, from the room/house decorations to the delicious breakfast Doug and his wife prepared for us.

We stayed here to start our honeymoon after getting married in Montgomery, and could not have found a better escape. Surrounded by beautiful meadows, our cabin afforded us with a quaint and private retreat. Doug was so responsive and helpful with every request. True to form, the breakfast at this B&B was incredible and different every day. We cannot recommend the Hudson Valley Rose enough, and will certainly be coming back.

My wife and I were looking for a tiny getaway not far from New York City when we found Hudson Valley Rose bed and breakfast. We booked a two night stay for a mini honeymoon in the Manchester Cottage and were absolutely delighted with our choice. The room was beyond adorable, the bathroom was something out of a home design magazine, absolutely gorgeous. The bed was heavenly and the beautiful views of the property were visible through every window.

Before arriving, we received a detailed email with many suggestions for dining and activities. The morning of our trip I received a text from Doug welcoming us to their beautiful bed and breakfast and offering help with directions and check in. Upon arrival, Doug greeted us with a warm welcome and snacks for our room, we love snacks! He gave us a quick introduction to the inn and told us when breakfast would be served the following morning.

Breakfast was served at a beautiful dining room table the next morning in the form of a gourmet three course meal. Doug is not only a thoughtful and welcoming host, he is also a fantastic cook. The next morning breakfast was served in a similar way with another delicious three course meal (all new foods).

The above would be more than enough reason for me to give a 5 star review, but I have to mention specifically how kind and helpful Doug was during our short stay there. He had given us many recommendations on places to check out during the day and was such a pleasant and charming person to just sit and talk with.

It was truly an amazing experience that we will not soon forget!
