Heart's Desire B&B - Raton, New Mexico

We are driving through and found this gem of a stay during their off-season!
1) the house is a 1890’s build, radiators are used in every room. We were never cold.
2) the house is always locked and you feel safe. They request that you lock the doors as you come and go.
3) they have notes everywhere explaining the house, times, and how to ring for help! Which was great!!
4) fully stocked, we had everything we could have needed/wanted

Now for the couple - they are so sweet and accommodating. Very dog friendly, laughed at our overly communicative dog, and brushed her barks off. The backyard is equipped for the puppies hanging out while you enjoy your delicious and freshly made breakfast.

Please come, stay, enjoy this amazing little gem in a tiny town. Such a beautiful and a wonderful couple that are happy to host!

My wife and I stayed overnight on our way to Colorado. Our room was great - two beds (one twin and one ... queen?). The larger bed was very firm, which did not bother me. My wife chose to sleep on the softer twin which worked great for her, too. We did not experience any noise issues and enjoyed a nice, quiet stay.||Breakfast in the morning was very good - ours consisted of a breakfast casserole, a French toast bake, and some fruit.||Overall, this is a great option if you're looking for something comfortable and relaxing.

I don’t normally review…but this place is a gem! I was on my last night of a very long trip. This B&B is perfect. The decor. The bed was comfy. The communication from the owners prior to my arrival. The breakfast. The conversation with the owners at breakfast. I really appreciated everything, especially after so many days on the road. Not commercial. Not plain. It was personal. Thank you.

I wanted to share a lovely experience I had recently during an impromptu trip to New Mexico. We set out to enjoy the music festival and do some fishing in Sugarite Canyon, and what a delightful adventure it turned out to be!

We stumbled upon a charming Bed and Breakfast owned by Sofia and Jason, who are not only incredibly friendly but also hail from Colorado like us! It made the experience feel even more special. 😊 Booking our stay was a breeze and the prices were very reasonable.

The older home was exceptionally well-maintained and clean, and every room was full of character! While I did pick up on a subtle presence during my stay, it only added to the unique charm of the place.

Overall, it was an amazing stay, and I highly recommend this hidden gem if you’re ever in the area!

Ghost Adventures needs to come do an episode here for sure!

Fantastic stay! Very responsive hosts with excellent communication! Sophia and Jason are superstars who make a stay at their B&B truly special. Flexible payment options and booking over the phone were a nice touch. They helped us choose the best option for rooms for our party over the phone. $20 pet fee. Fenced in back yard was a nice place to let the dog get some off leash time outside. Nice quiet area just off the main street in downtown. Excellent directions made for easy access even with our late arrival. We staying in "the Lodge" which is the top (3rd floor). Beds were comfy and place was clean. Dining room and other common rooms downstairs are tastefully decorated with many options for games and information on Raton. Coffee was available anytime. Our super hosts prepared and served an impressive hot breakfast which included most of our favorites... very tasty! Pleasant conversation and personalities, great people! Can't recommend this place enough! We will be back.

We’ve traveled through Raton, NM numerous times on our way to Colorado and we’re VERY surprised to find this Bnb. there are seven bedrooms. We had one called the lodge. It was a remodeled attic space with a little kitchenette and a reasonably size bathroom. fortunately, neither one of us were handicapped as it made no mention of climbing stairs to the second floor, and then opening up a door to climb straight up to the apartment. The bed was very comfortable and the linens were nice. Sophia made an amazing egg sausage muffin with fruit for breakfast and served it on elegant China. We even met a couple that used to live in our hometown, Corpus Christi, Texas. Being a pet friendly establishment was a real plus for us. The neighborhood was safe and nice to walk through. We will return on our way to the mountains.

It was such a quaint place. Very clean and the owners are very accommodating and attentive. The beds were comfortable and the shower was awesome. We came down to an elegantly set table with coffee and juice waiting. The breakfast knocked our socks off. It was delicious. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend. We had a great time even though we were just passing through the area. Raton is a cute town that's definitely worth visiting and this B&B is a great place to stay with so much charm. The hosts were great and we hope to come back!
