Downen House Bed & Breakfast

Beautiful historic home in perfect location. Hosts Tammy and Scott could not have been more attentive to every detail in this historic home. Fine appointments are in every room (top quality mattress, towels, sheets, soaps, and robes) and tasteful and elegant dining service. Reflects more than five stars. The gracious hosts offered us wine or beverages upon our arrival. We wish them every success and if we wind up back in Pueblo, we'll be sure to stay there.

Great place to stay in Pueblo. Beautiful historic home. We had two rooms, each had their own bathroom. The beds were comfy. The hosts will make you feel welcome and share their house to explore and enjoy. Nice outside seating areas. The breakfast was amazing. Well done!

Had a lovely time staying here! It's obvious Scott and Tammy care deeply about both preserving the house's history and providing top-notch hosting. The house is beautifully restored and comfortably updated. Breakfast was delicious--I had a fruit/yogurt/granola cup + quiche, but Scott will vary the menu if you're there multiple days--and drinks and snacks are plentiful. I enjoyed lounging in the living room doing the daily crossword puzzle in the evening. I only wish the weather had been cooler so I could've experienced the garden and hot tub! (The air conditioning indoors, however, was nice and cool.) If you love old houses (like I do), you will also appreciate that the Rosemount Museum is a short walk from Downen House. I will definitely stay again the next time I'm in Pueblo!

This was a wonderful place to spend part of our anniversary weekend! Scott and Tammy, our hosts, were incredibly friendly, and knowledgeable about the history of their home and furnishings. As history buffs, this was a great bonus in addition to the wonderful suite where we stayed. Great decor and attention to details such as complimentary snacks and drinks, along with the beautiful wrap around porch and hot tub all added to our visit. The anniversary roses and plush robes were the final touches to make this a truly memorable stay!! We will definitely recommend this to our friends and will look to stay there again!

Staying at Downen House was a great experience. The owners were incredibly welcoming and helped us feel right at home, especially after such a long day of travel. We forgot to tell them beforehand about our dietary restrictions, and they were gracious enough to create a really delicious breakfast on the fly. If we're in Pueblo again, we'd stay here!

Wow! If you were looking for an amazing place to stay right in the middle of the Pueblo area this is the spot! The hosts were amazing and kind. The thoughtfulness and detail that went into the stay was great! You get so much more here rather than staying at a hotel. They were always up to chat about the history of the home or you can relax in the garden area and hot tub. Everything was clean and if you forget something they will help you get it! Definitely worth the stay. Also try the brews ale house, so good and on the Riverwalk.
