Traveling (in Oct) with the goal of staying in Cuchara and fishing Blue lake and Bear lake the next morning, we made a call and reserved two rooms. Each room had a queen bed, bathroom with shower, and another double bed and single bed allowing up to 5 adults to stay. Our room had a balcony overlooking the brook. It was peaceful. Our hostess, Gaylene was welcoming and prepared a delicious breakfast the next morning. We enjoyed our overnight stay and would love to return with more family to enjoy the home for several days.

This is the most perfect spot when you visit the wonderful hideaway of Cuchara, Colorado! Gaylene and little Riley are the most perfect hosts! The breakfast is awesome and the location is ideal, right down from the main street. Gaylene knows much of the history of Cuchara and will tell you all about this wonderful town. If you want to get away from your hectic life, Cuchara is the place to go and the Cucharas River Bed and Breakfast is the perfect spot to select!!

Outstanding B&B in an extraordinarily beautiful mountain retreat area. Local shops & dining are just up the hill and the outside sitting areas by the river are breathtaking!
The rooms are decorated impeccably in a lodge motif and are very cozy and comfortable.

The perfect place to stay for your mountain get away! We cannot recommend Cucharas River B&B enough - Amazingly homey and environmentally beautiful, with the most hospitable and kind hosts, Gaylene and her dog Riley. Every breakfast was warm and delicious and accommodating to our vegetarianism. Stocked with a full and functional kitchen and comfortable main living room, our stay was nothing short of perfect. Amazing views, clean and cozy rooms and bathrooms, and strong Wi-Fi left us wanting for nothing else. Can’t wait to come back soon! ?️❄️

A quaint space in a beautiful area - tucked between mountains along a stream. While the room was tight with an antiquated heating system, the beds were comfortable. The shared downstairs living and dining room area was well appointed and well decorated by large windows and beautiful views. The host was very friendly and cooked a flavorful breakfast.

This place is unparalleled. Between the cozy rooms, the incredible host Gaylene (and Riley the host dog of course! ) the river right outside, and the wonderful breakfast there is no where quite like it! You must absolutely do yourself a favor and stay here!

Highly recommend this B&B to everyone needing a place to stay, Gaylene is such a wonderful host and super sweet! This was the first B&B my boyfriend and I have ever stayed in and we were not disappointed at all, we felt right at home! Location is great, and the house is super clean and beautiful and her breakfast was so yummy! You wont regret staying here.

We are 2 families (4 adults, 6 teenagers ages 13-18) exploring this area of CO for the first time. Cuchara is a sweet little gem nestled in the forest. Gaylene is the kind hostess who operates the B&B and organizes the yummy breakfast. The house is clean and very comfortable. We had rooms 4 and 5 upstairs; kids slept in the loft area very comfortably (the teenage boys are over 6' and had plenty of room). We enjoyed sitting on the patio and listening to the creek after a late dinner at Dog Bar & Grill. The only sad thing was this was a quick overnight stay on our roadtrip. All of us agreed that we could have very happily spent the week here.
