Room is old-fashioned so bring an extension cord if you travel with cell phones, laptops or other electronic devices needing charging. Breakfasts were first-rate. Convenient location near a wedding site. Views are breath-taking both in beauty and high elevation.

My wife and I are very happy we found this quiet bed and breakfast so close to the Denver metro area and much of what Colorado has to offer. As "city slickers", we are always happy to get close to horses - and the ones kept by proprietors Kris and Jim are beautiful. It's the quiet natural setting that the visitor will most appreciate, in a setting with a variety of many trees and birds. We were surprised by how such a place can exists fairly close to fast and busy US-285! Kris and Jim are sharp folks who are a pleasure to engage intelligent conversation with, and they have tales to relate of enviable lives well lived. It is obvious the pride they have in their surroundings - Anchorage Farm - a place expressing rare Quality. They have created a place with love and reverence for details; including the unique themes of each of 3 guest rooms (featuring art and furnishings acquired during their travels), their choices of warm interior colors in common areas, the scratch-made healthy (and hearty!) breakfasts they create, and other uncommon pleasures such as heartfelt guide pamphlets for each guest room. Places like Anchorage Farm are what we search for, rather than AirBNB locations, and we will come here again!

Whether you’re a horse person or not, this is a wonderful place to relax and watch a working horse farm in action. Kris and Jim are very welcoming and friendly. Their ranch house is cozy and authentic. Breakfast was delicious. Right outside are the horse stables, paddocks and riding ring. You can view the horses in their stalls or outside during the day. There’s a lot of acreage to explore. For the horse person they give dressage lessons on their various warmbloods as well as the rest of their herd. I would love to stay there again.

Such an amazing experience. I took my daughter here for a mother daughter getaway. My daughter took a horse lesson with Kris, we took a walk in the woods, and read in the beautiful sunroom of the horse suite. Kris is amazing! My daughter told me that she felt so safe here. She said...it's weird, hotels feel kinda cold and smell chemically but this place feels safe and cozy. We loved it! Also breakfast was amazing.

My stay at Anchorage Farm FAR exceeded my expectations! First of all, Kris and Jim are wonderful and really make you feel at home. The breakfast Kris made was absolutely splendid -- a fruit and yogurt parfait and an eggs benedict that was truly to die for. The bed in the bird room was exceptionally comfortable and I was upset I had to rise and leave for the day. The room is spotlessly clean, warm, and unique. The grounds are beautiful and I loved eating breakfast outside by the water feature as I watched the horses in their pens. I enthusiastically recommend all who are nearby to stay at Anchorage Farm!

It is exactly what I was looking for. A place that felt like home with views so beautiful and near horses. Very relaxing. Kris and Jim were the perfect hosts. I will miss them! The breakfast they made was absolutely delicious! They gave us great destinations to check out. Lots to see. Beautiful hiking. Our private bedroom with a large tub and fireplace and king bed was just perfect. The decor was beautiful. We were in the coyote room. The best part was helping water the horses and watching Kris give horse riding lessons which they offer! Watching the birds and squirrels out the big eating area window was such a site! While having coffee the horses walk by the window on their way to the field. So, if you are into down home country loving, this is the place for you♥️

Rustic rooms on a horse ranch. Bedroom and sitting room. About 3/4 mile of dirt road off US 285, mountains all around. We stayed 3 good nights. Enjoyed breakfasts and hosts.

This was a unique & positive experience. The hosts/owners are the epitome of a MOM and POP business. We saw first hand ( Jim and Kris) followed their passions and have worked and continue to work very hard in ownership of a horse ranch/providing riding lessons. They are incredible inspiration of what keeps us going in life. Jim and Kris in their golden years continue to work hard. Jim was fixing the tractor and Kris (recovering from a recent horse injury) was making us breakfast in the morning ! It is one of the few horse ranches in Pine still surviving. My money was well spent support this wonderful business. |- Marion and Paul
