This place is so special. It's really hard to describe it and give it the justice it deserves. From the second you walk and you are so warmly greeted that you are instantly part of Juanita's family. The lodge is old school cool in every possible way. Each room is very unique and transports you back to a simpler time.. If this is an experience you are craving, then there's none better.
The lodge feels like you are in the old west. There's fireplaces and wood stoves everywhere, big leather chairs and sofas. Its purpose is to take you off the grid and explore the grounds, listen to stories from Juanita about breaking Wild Mustangs and meeting other folks who are passing through. After longs days of hiking there's nothing better than cozy cabin. And, of course, the breakfast!. These folks can throw down on some eggs! I would climb the Estes Cone barefoot for another one of her Apple dumplings. You owe it to yourself to experience this rare level of peace and tranquility. I was truly a little sad when I had to leave on Friday morning. Thank you so much to Juanita and Cody.

5 star experience in a rustic lodge. Yes, the floors are creaky and the bathrooms are pretty small, but that's all part of the experience. Beautiful log interior; meeting room available. Grab a freshly baked cookie when you check in! Be on time to family style breakfasts with something to please everyone. It's not just a good home-cooked meal, but a great time to get acquainted with the hosts/owners, Bill and Juanita. They have great stories to share! Give an ear-scratching to much loved and well behaved Reba the Lodge Dog and play tug-of-war with her rope. Follow Juanita out to feed the horses for a fun experience and interesting stories. Catch Bill in a quiet moment for some great horse tales, too. Relax and watch a movie in the evening, enjoy a good puzzle or book, or soak in the scenery and mountain air in the back yard or on the balcony while watching hummingbird antics. Our actual home may be across the plains, but Bill and Juanita make us feel at home here. This is a great location just a short distance from the more tourist-filled Estes Park, with easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park locations. (Pics from multiple visits.)

Sadly, Bill passed away in 2022 and is dearly missed. Juanita and family are keeping the Lodge up and running, and have even done some updates. The same welcoming experience still awaits you!

Super nice breakfast. We felt welcome and enjoyed the hospitality of the B&B owners. All clean and very nice. We would love to come back one day. Situated very nice and in an ok driving distance from Estes Park, Boulder and Nederland. The nature is just fantastic and so is the dark sky at night.

The accommodations are terrific! It is a rustic lodge built in the 1930s, but it has both inside bathrooms, showers in some rooms, tubs in others, and electricity in every room. The lodge has lots of public areas, including a large dining area for breakfast. The owners, Bill and Juanita, cook a different breakfast everyday! There is much variety, including juices, eggs, cobblers, potatoes, etc., etc. Bill helped me move into our room, as I had a lot of luggage. The lodge is on old highway 7, so traffic noise is minimal. There are rules about quiet times, but these are for the benefit of all guests. It is only 15 miles from Estes Park in a very, very small town. I highly recommend this lodge if you are looking for rustic and not Sheraton-type accommodations.

I can't say enough about this place! We arrived very late and were welcomed with open arms (not literally due to Covid). The hosts were very warm and welcoming despite masks and distance. We stayed in the "apartment" with sleep room for 5, bathroom for just our party, full kitchen and a private deck! We had all the amenities and linens provided to us. The place is rustic with rustic charm that's very calm and comfortable. As another review mentioned, older places don't have good temperature control but we went in the middle of hot summer and with the trees and the breeze with the windows open we were very comfortable!!! Our last day was off to a much better start than expected when the hosts (J&B) treated us to the best home cooked breakfast we could ever ask for!! I'm a picky eater and was not told what was for breakfast. I ate EVERYTHING that was served and loved it all!! They let us feed and pet the horses too. 100% recommend this place! The pizza place in town is a long wait so call early but it was worth it as well!

The Lodge is the most unique, fun, and truly comfortable property I have ever stayed in. It is not high-end by any standard, but the property just oozes with personality and charm. Bill and Juanita are your hosts and they don't just rent you a room, they invite you to live in their home as a guest and friend. You have your own private sleeping accommodations, but other than that, they have made their entire home available to you. Yes, many of the rooms share bathrooms, the floors creek, their is no AC (not that you need it---just open up a window and enjoy the cool mountain air), but all of these quirks just add to the personality of the place. These are real people, who live in a real home....not some indistinguishable, boring, sterile Hampton Inn. Bill and Juanita cook breakfast every morning, and all the guests sit together at their dining room table and share a fantastic home-cooked meal and wonderful conversation with them. There is no possible way you can leave their table being hungry. Don't forget to spend some time with their dog Reba....she is a bit shy at first, but give her some attention, and she will be your friend for your entire stay. Do yourself a favor and stay here when you visit Rocky Mountain NP....you won't be sorry.

Absolutely wonderful experience! My husband, our friend and I sat for hours talking in the great room, enjoying freshly baked cookies from the hosts, coffee and hot chocolate. It was warm, cozy and completely relaxing. We felt so welcome. Kudos to Bill and Juanita for maintaining such a wonderful lodge. We are hoping to return one day with more friends and family.

Juanita and Bill have really done an amazing job with this place. Such a splendid atmosphere. There's so much rustic style that you really feel like you've taken a step back in time. From the creaking floorboards to the low stairway to get upstairs (watch your head if you're tall) this place is full of charm. We we're only able to enjoy one breakfast at the table, but it was delicious! The next morning we left early before breakfast but they were kind enough to pack us a sack breakfast for our way out the door. They know the area like the back of their hand and give lots of good advice for trails to hike. Count yourself as a lucky guest if you get to pick from the water bottle bag (inside joke).
