Myu husband and and I stayed in the Hummingbird Cottage at the Agate Hill Bed & Breakfast for 4 nights in July. In a word charming! The cottage consisted of 4 rooms, a bedroom with a king size sleep number bed that was very comfortable, a second small bedroom/office, a living room with a wood burning stove, a full kitchen and a small, dated but efficient bathroom. There is an outside porch with chairs and a porch swing, which we used every day to enjoy the views. There is very strong wi-fi in the cottage. We loved our stay. Jon the Innkeeper made us feel very welcome and was very accommodating. We had an issue with the hot water on the 1st day and Jon took care of it right way making sure it was working perfectly. He really cares about the comfort of his guests. We’ve stayed at several other B&B’s over the years and hands down Jon’s breakfasts were the best we’ve ever had (homemade banana bread french toast --- yummm). Ask Jon for directions to where ever you’re going, he gave us perfect directions every time.||||Make sure you stop at the Cliff House for a cheeseburger, we live in the NYC metro area and have access to great food, the Cliff House burger is one of the best I can remember having in a long time. We drove to Divide, Co. (about ½ an hour from Manitou) to visit the wolf sanctuary, a wonderful experience. Visited the Cliff Dwellings, a very interesting self-guided tour, that only takes an hour or two. Kids would love both of these attractions. We took the cog railroad up to Pikes Peak, which we enjoyed. Dress warmly, it’s very cold up there even in the summer. The scenery is breathtaking.||||We would highly recommend this B&B if you’re visiting Manitou Springs and want a cozy and comfortable place to stay that is within walking distance to town.

My wife and I and two daughters stayed in the Garden Cottage for several nights in September, 2016. We are semi-retired and our daughters are in their 50's. We found the cottage to be cozy with comfortable beds and a pleasant fully functional kitchen. Everything worked well, especially the auto control on the little heating unit in the living room. We enjoyed relaxing in the living room and even found a couple of books to partially read together and sat on the porch looking at the mountains in the morning and evening. The proprietor was easy going, thoughtful and made a very tasty breakfast one morning. We highly recommend this B&B.

My new husband and I stayed at Agate Hill in the Honeysuckle Cottage for one night. It was a beautiful way to end our Rocky Mountain honeymoon. Charming old home in beautiful Manitou Springs, a short walk to the shops and the flowing mineral springs where you can fill a bottle with natural soda water. The cottage is beautifully and comfortably decorated, and we would have enjoyed staying for several days with the fully functional kitchen. John chauffeured us in his 1930 Model A to town for our dinner reservation at Mona Lisa, even before he knew it was our honeymoon. It was a short but special experience. He also prepared a gourmet breakfast of banana bread french toast with powdered sugar, fresh grapes and strawberry juice. John's many years in the area led to very interesting conversation over breakfast. We highly recommend Agate Hill if you are looking for a sophisticated B&B experience that won't break the bank.

If you're looking for a quiet, charming palce to get away, yet still be able to walk into town or take a short drive to other attractions, then look no further. John, the Innkeeper, was great to work with and his cottages are very cute, roomy and comfortable. They aren't new buildings with all the modern conveniences, but well worth a stay. The breakfast with the other guests was very good, and fun to meet new folks around the morning table. If you're there for a special occasion, ask John about the Model A Ford spin around town (for a fee, of course).

We really enjoyed our stay in the Garden Cottage of Agate Hill. It was a quiet, serene place with a great location! The grounds were a little un-kept as there were yard/maintenance tooling laying around outside, but that didn't bother us any. John was very accommodating and made sure we were comfortable. Really enjoyed Agate and Manitou Springs!

We have been calling for a week to secure a room at Agate Hill. No return calls and zero returned emails. If this is an example of the customer service at the bed and breakfast we do not want any part of it.
