1717 has been nothing but AMAZING to me and my boyfriend who moved across country. We were new to Ohio but Casey the apartment manager was always warm and welcoming. He made sure we were always taken care of and went above and beyond to make sure we settled right in. When ever anything went wrong Casey was sure to respond quickly. We are forever grateful to Casey and his team! Thank you for always making us feel welcomed we will miss these apartments.

I don’t usually write negative reviews, but I feel this experience warrants one. After a 14-hour trip, we arrived at our rental unit to find it in a shocking and unacceptable state.

Upon entering, we immediately noticed a terrible smell in the hallway. In the kitchen, there was a dirty pickle jar among the glassware, and the drawers were messy and had hair in them. Moving to the bedroom, the drawers still had stickers from assembling the dresser, which felt unprofessional. Most alarming was the blood spatter on the door and walls; it appeared as if someone had made a quick attempt at cleaning after a crime scene.

The TV was crooked, the bathroom was filthy, and the bed had blood and hair on the sheets. Additionally, the air filter was covered in dust, and there was hair in the bathroom drawers.

Feeling unsafe—especially as the area outside was concerning with many homeless individuals—I immediately contacted the host. I requested a refund, as I could not stay in a place that felt so unclean and unsafe. They only refunded the cleaning fee, refusing to return nearly $500 for a stay that lasted less than 10 minutes. Their response was to offer a different unit or to clean the current one, which I declined.

If safety and cleanliness are priorities for you, I strongly advise against booking with this company.

I moved into the Residences at 1717 last month, and I love living here. Everyone who works here genuinely cares! The management, security, and maintenance teams have all been kind and friendly, always going out of their way to be helpful. I’ve only had one very minor maintenance request, which was handled promptly.

The apartment itself is amazing — it's huge, quiet, has a beautiful view, so much natural light, and plenty of storage space. Every single person who has visited the apartment almost immediately says some variation of "Wow, this is a really nice apartment." Plus, it's reasonably priced! I looked at 12 other downtown buildings before choosing this one, and most were more expensive but didn’t offer nearly as much space, natural light, or a lake view.

The unit was immaculate when I moved in, with fresh paint and flooring. The 24/7 security and package acceptance are really great to have, and I feel very safe here. I haven’t used the building gym yet, but I plan to. I don’t have a car, but the attached parking garage has been useful for visitors, and I know you can get a parking space if you need to. The other residents also seem very nice.

The location is also incredible for walkability —just a couple of minutes' walk to Heinen's for groceries and CVS for prescriptions, 10 minutes to the lake, and there are tons of nearby restaurants. Being able to eat at Al’s (with a discount!) without leaving the building is awesome too.

I moved in just over two months ago and started communicating with Emily and Casey (the building managers) around the end of April, or the start of May. Since that point, they've been extremely quick with responding, helpful in every aspect, and very considerate emailing everyone when streets are closed for events, or when something is going on in the building that could cause excess noise, water down, etc. Emily and Casey are great, they check in with me occasionally as well (since I just moved in two months ago) to make sure I'm all settled in and everything is going ok. I highly recommend Residence at 1717 because of the location and exceptionally friendly, and accommodating, building managers, Emily and Casey, among other things!

It’s been a great experience living here, the leasing management team were amazing from the beginning of the process. I moved from out of state and they made the process enjoyable and easy. They were also great at answering all questions I had leading up to and after my move. Everyone Ive met is incredibly kind and reliable.

I used to love living here. Great price, fantastic location, friendly neighbors but over the years these apartments have had issues. I believe this is, In large part, because k&d has started to rent apartments to airbnb. Ever. Neighbors are now replaced with noisy out of towners who do not care about keeping the community and common areas clean and are loud/partying at all hours of the night. The apartments also have issues with water being shut off and elevators going down.

I have lived here for years and am concerned at seeing the direction these apartments are going. I loved this place and have recommended it to friends who ended up living here. I can no longer recommend these apartments until the Airbnb practices change. The biggest saving grace and strength of these apartments is the timeliness and effectiveness of the maintenance team and Casey, the best community manager I’ve ever worked with at an apartment. He always communicates with tenants and does a fantastic job working with residents in setting up events and making sure they have what they need.

I had the pleasure of residing at 1717 for a year and a half, and my experience was truly blissful. The building's safety and security measures, provided me with complete peace of mind. The convenience of the attached garage for parking.

I thoroughly enjoyed the downstairs café as well as the amenities and resident events that fostered a sense of community They also did raffles for prizes during holiday season which made it really exciting. The downtown vibe was fantastic, with easy access to local restaurants and the lively game-day atmosphere right at our doorstep. The dog park at the end of the street was a bonus.

Maintenance requests were always handled promptly, and packages were delivered securely, adding to the overall convenience.

I'm thankful for the friends I made while living at 1717. Casey, the property manager, is exceptionally personable, professional, and helpful, always ensuring everything runs smoothly.

I highly recommend 1717 to anyone looking for a wonderful place to live. I have also captured some photos of the downtown scenery.

Recently moved in . We were treated very well during the process of getting approval and throughout. The Security team has been amazing. We feel very safe in the building. Really easy access to garage. The section of Cleveland this sits in is amazing. Everything you need is just a few blocks away. I would recommend this building for anyone wanting that downtown living feel.
